Health Care Worker in the Spotlight - Kim Clarke

Throughout 2021 we are shining the spotlight on some of our incredible Health Care team. This week we profile Hospital Administration Manager, Kim Clarke.

How long have you worked for Healthe Care?

8 years last month.

What's your current role?

Hospital Administration Manager

Have you had any other roles with Healthe Care Australia previously?

Yes, that's one of the things I like most about working for a large organisation.

Initially, I joined Mayo Private as Administration Officer on the front desk. Then after a few years I moved in to Medical Records helping out a few days a week. From there I moved onto learning Theatre List coordination to cover leave.

In the last 3 years I have been the Billing Clerk and 2IC before becoming the Administration Manager at the start of March this year.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I like organizing and helping others. I have a great supportive team around me and we really look after each other which makes working every day a happy and productive experience.

How does your role contribute to positive patient experiences and/or outcomes?

Being the first point of contact in a patient's health care journey, we can set the tone of the whole experience. When a person is greeted with a warm and friendly face it can calm the nervous or anxiety that patients often feel before admission. I always say to my team, treat the patient in front of you like it was your relative, family or a friend - ask yourself how would you like to be treated.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received and would like to pass on to your colleagues?

"Can't is what keeps us here, can is what moves us forward”.

If someone says they can’t do something, there is never any progression or improvement. If someone believes they can do something then you’re always moving forward.

What do you love most about living/working on the Mid North Coast?

The location, it’s close to everything we need and there’s no traffic.

The community - you know the majority of people in your town and everyone is really friendly.

What value do you most align with?

#BestExperience #BestPractice #Respect #ItsPersonal #PositiveEnergy

Positive energy; happy positive vibes goes a long way :-)
