How long have you worked for Healthe Care?

Nearly two and a half years

What is your current role?

Regional Clinical Nurse Educator

Have you had any other roles with HCA previously?

I previously worked in Lingard’s ICU and as an acute ward nurse at the Mayo Private.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love that nursing is a profession where the opportunity for growth is almost unlimited. We have opportunities to work with a diverse range of people and within various clinical areas.

The thing I love the most, is that you have the power to make a difference in the lives of others. I especially love when I am teaching student nurses and you see the light bulbs go on, that “yes, I’ve got it!” moment is a special one.

How does your role contribute to positive patient experiences and/ or outcomes?

In my role as Nurse Educator, I aim to inspire and empower nurses to lead in change that benefits their patients, equip nurses with the tools and skills they need to perform comprehensive patient assessments and ensure patients and their families are delivered the best care and education.

Nurses are with patients through every step of their care and are essential for driving patient satisfaction. I believe that by providing the right education and support to nurses, patients will not only have positive health outcomes but also experiences in their own health journey.

What's the best piece of advice you've received?

You can only do what you can, and you can only do your best. Enjoy the journey.

What do you love most about living/ working on the Mid North Coast?

The easy laid back lifestyle. Plus, you’re surrounded by beautiful beaches, bushland, country and the long winding Manning River! What’s not to love!

What value/s do you best align with?

#Positive Energy - Positivity is contagious, so I like to find the positive in every situation.
