Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery

MAKO Robotic System

MAKO robotic technology uses CT scans to analyse each patient’s unique joint structure and plan their joint replacement prior to surgery. The Orthopaedic Surgeon then uses the MAKO Robotic arm during the surgery to perfectly match the detailed pre-operative plan. This allows the surgeon to customise the alignment and positioning of the replacement joint to ensure it is at an angle that optimises outcomes and matches the unique anatomy of each patient, to within <1mm.

ROSA Robotic Surgery

ROSA Robotic Surgery offers a minimally invasive approach to surgery allowing specialists to perform complex surgical procedures with increased accuracy and control than is possible through standard operative techniques.

The ROSA acts as an assistant in the operating room, combining computer navigation, soft tissue, 3D modelling and robotics into a single package. The ROSA allows surgeons to plan pre-operatively in 3D where to position the implant, which enhances precision and accuracy.

Dr Johan Le Roux has been using Rosa Robotics for the last 12 months at Mayo and recently the Rosa performed it's 100th Surgery.

Orthopaedic Spine

Orthopaedic Spine focuses on treating conditions of the nervous system including the spinal cord and peripheral nerves, and the supporting structures that are likely to respond to surgery, offering treatment for paediatric spinal deformity and trauma as well as adult spinal deformity, trauma, degenerative and tumour processes.

Our surgeon will treat an array of spinal condition's with a special interest in early onset and adolescent scoliosis management.
