What is Lymphoedema?
Lymphoedema is the swelling of a limb due to a build up excess fluid in the tissues, and can be caused by problems with, or damage to, the lymphatic system. Untreated, this swelling may become difficult to control.
If you have lymphoedema we can help you. Some signs of lymphoedema are:
- An appearance of swelling in the limb
- A heavy, tight limb
- Pins and needles
- Numbness, temperature changes or aches
- Indentations in the skin from tight clothing and jewellery

Located on-site in the Allied Health Building at Mayo Private Hospital, Mayo Lymphoedema Clinic is now open.
