Dr Tina Yu is a general cardiologist and researcher with over 15 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Peking University (China) where she later completed her PhD in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr Yu previously practised as a Consultant Cardiologist at Peking University teaching hospital before relocating to Australia to pursue postdoctoral research at the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney. She completed top-up cardiology training at the Royal North Shore Hospital followed by a sub-specialty fellowship in heart failure, imaging, and cardio-oncology at John Hunter Hospital.
Dr Yu is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

- Heart failure
- Coronary artery disease, and hypertension
- Cardiac imaging
- Cardio-oncology
- Preventive cardiology.
Dr Yu provides holistic and patient-centred care, particularly for patients with complex or chronic cardiovascular conditions.
To date, she has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Dr Yu is Co-Deputy Director of the Heart and Stroke Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Her career goal is to integrate clinical cardiology, research excellence, and health equally to improve patients' cardiovascular outcomes.
