Our Renal Dialysis Unit is well recognised for its clinical excellence, caring and compassionate staff.
Our unit is equipped with 5 dialysis chairs and state of the art equipment with capacity for 10 patients a day. The dialysis unit is staffed by specialist trained staff and overseen by a renal physician.
Our team caters for long term patient care and holiday patients.
Renal dialysis becomes necessary when a person’s kidneys fail due to acute or chronic disease, cancer, or congenital conditions. Dialysis is the process where a machine does the work kidneys would normally do: blood is pumped from a person’s bloodstream to a machine which filters out waste and excess water, and then the filtered blood is pumped back into the bloodstream.
An experienced team of specialists nurses and nephrologist provide our patients with the highest quality care, thorough education and information to assist individuals and families throughout this period.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes the specialist, nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social worker, pastoral care. The team approach plays a significant role in minimising any discomfort and offering the support needed for our patients.
