Dr Makwana moved to Australia in 2009 after completing MBBS in India. Completed all Psychiatry training in Australia in Rockhampton and Cairns. Advance training in old age psychiatry in 2020.

He is a senior lecturer associated with the University of Queensland and has worked as an old age psychiatrist in a permanent role at Rockhampton OPMHS between 2018 - 2020.

Dr Makwana was a locum psychiatrist in four hospitals and health services across Queensland (Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast, Darling Downs) throughout 2020 and 2021.

Now working as a respected old age psychiatrist at Darling Downs Hospital and Health Services in Toowoomba, Queensland.

We are very pleased to have Dr Makwana join our Mental Health Team at Mayo Private Hospital where he is available for tele-health consulting every week on Tuesdays.
