Mayo Private Hospital provides a comprehensive range of day patient rehabilitation programs, delivered by an expert clinical team, to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes for our patients.
Our experienced team of Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, and Psychologists will work in partnership with you, your GP, and your Rehabilitation Specialist, to help you navigate through this challenging time.
We provide a structured yet personalised programs to improve your physical condition, and provide you with the knowledge to get you back on your feet and living life.
Cardiac and pulmonary
Personalised yet structured programs designed to restore and improve your cardiovascular fitness and to improve breathing, fitness, mobility and self-management.
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a structured yet personalised program, which follows the 'Best Practice' guidelines set by the Heart Foundation, to restore and improve your cardiovascular fitness following an adverse event which has effected your heart or vascular system such as heart attacks and coronary procedures.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is specifically designed for patients who have, or recently had an exacerbation of a respiratory condition. This includes, but is not limited to, those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (including emphysema, chronic bronchitis), severe asthma, lung cancer and pneumonia. The program is designed to improve breathing, fitness, mobility and self-management.
Both programs utilise a multidisciplinary approach with expert care being delivered by our team of Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians and Psychologists.

Day program structure
- One and a half hours of therapy
- Exercise physiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, and psychology
- Two days per week over six weeks (program length can be varied based on your progress)
Falls / Vestibular
Helping you get back on your feet if falls, balance, or fatigue are impacting everyday life.
Do you feel unsteady on your feet?
Have you had a fall, or do you have a fear of falling?
Is nausea, vomiting and fatigue impacting your day-to-day activities and quality of life?
Our Falls and Balance Program offers a structured and personalised approach to help you overcome these life altering conditions.
Day program structure

- One to two days per week over six weeks (program length can be varied based on your progress)
How to access the programs
Ask your General Practitioner or Specialist to refer you to our program. Eligibility and funding requests are arranged prior to admission.
Private health fund, DVA, SIRA and TAC referrals are accepted.
If you have an excess or co-payment with your health insurance, you will be required to pay this at the time of admission. If you have had a previous admission to a private hospital within the last 12 months, your excess payment may not be applicable.
Self-funded patients will be required to pay at the time of admission.
